Selena Kay is a composer, instrumentalist and experienced music educator who has taught at institutions including Morley College, City Lit and Goldsmiths College. She works with students of different ages and levels, both online and in person.

Her specialist areas include aural musicianship, keyboard musicianship, music theory, harmony and counterpoint. Selena is a Kodály specialist, and her teaching places strong emphasis on learning through listening, singing, playing and active musical participation. Her lessons are interactive and tailored to each student’s level, helping them develop both practical skills and a deeper understanding of music.

Selena holds a BMus (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh, an MMus from the University of Manchester, and a PGCE, and is a fully qualified teacher.

Alongside her teaching, Selena is also an accomplished composer. She studied with Louis Andriessen at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague on a Dutch Government Scholarship, has received awards including BBC Young Composers, and has had her music performed and broadcast on BBC Radio
